These albums show some Wizitch photography, mostly taken by Stephen May (Wizard) who inherited a keen love of photography from his Father. Some of these photos are nearly 30 years old and so these galleries show a sort of pictorial history of one person's efforts to show the wonders of his world as he saw it through the viewfinder.
Golden Oldies
13-Apr-2009 00:00These photos were taken almost 30 years ago when Wizard was living in Nelson, New Zealand. They were originally taken with a Pentax ME Super 35mm Camera with a variety of lenses. The film used was Agfa 25 ASA slide film which was bought in bulk and hand loaded into film canisters. The exposed films were developed at home in the kitchen sink with the aid of a light-proof bag and developing tank. This approach was much cheaper than having the film developed professionally. Wizard recently scanned these old slides into a digital format and they show the beautiful saturated greens which were a hallmark of this particular type of film.
Silver Oldies
13-Apr-2009 00:00Another Album of scanned slides these images represent just a small selection of the many photos Wizard took during his mid and late twenties (mid 1980's). He often combined his love of photography with his love of motorcycles and the rich and varied landscapes around the top half of New Zealand's (Aotearoa) rugged South Island (Te Wai Pounamu - the Greenstone Waters)
